About this product

Perfumed. Silky. Elegantly expressive.
Yalumba’s “Samuel’s Collection” Viognier is a beautifully aromatic white that showcases the finesse and purity of Eden Valley — one of Australia’s most respected cool-climate regions. Named in honour of Samuel Smith, founder of Yalumba, this collection reflects a commitment to craftsmanship, heritage, and varietal expression.

Eden Valley’s higher altitude and cooler temperatures allow Viognier to develop its signature aromatics while retaining freshness and balance. It’s a region that brings precision to a grape often known for opulence, resulting in a wine that feels lifted, refined, and beautifully composed.

In the glass, it shows a pale golden hue with bright clarity. The nose is immediately captivating — apricot, peach, and nectarine rise from the glass, layered with orange blossom, jasmine, and a gentle hint of spice. It’s intensely aromatic, yet never overwhelming, striking a fine balance between richness and elegance.

On the palate, the wine is silky and textured, with ripe stone fruit flavours gliding across a smooth, rounded mouthfeel. There’s a natural generosity to Viognier, but here it is kept in check by a line of freshness that brings definition and length. Subtle spice and floral notes linger on the finish, creating a wine that feels both indulgent and poised.

For wine lovers in Ireland, this is a fantastic introduction to premium Australian Viognier — expressive, food-friendly, and a little different from more familiar white varieties. It’s a wine that adds a touch of luxury to everyday moments, equally suited to relaxed dining or something a little more special.

Why we love it:
Perfumed and silky with beautiful balance. Ripe apricot and floral notes meet fresh acidity and subtle spice. A refined, elegant take on Viognier.
