About us

VP Merchants is an Irish wine and spirits wholesaler supplying off-trade and on-trade businesses across the Republic of Ireland. We work with off-licences, restaurants, bars, hotels, event caterers, wedding planners, airlines and other licensed businesses, offering a carefully curated portfolio supported by hands-on service and industry expertise.

Originally founded as Via Piemonte—a name inspired by Italy’s renowned Piedmont region—the company has grown and evolved into VP Merchants. Since 2018, we have been importing Italian wines from small, family-owned producers who prioritise manual harvesting, traditional methods and organic practices. From the very beginning, our focus has been on uncovering lesser-known, often underestimated wines and bringing them to the Irish market.

Alongside wine, we have steadily expanded our spirits portfolio. From Bordiga 1888 to Ms Better’s Bitters, VP Merchants has been proud to be the very first importer and early supporters of distinctive international brands in Ireland—introducing premium vermouths, liqueurs and cocktail ingredients that have since become staples in bars across the country and beyond.

Beyond our core wine and spirits range, VP Merchants offers an extensive selection of products—from everyday favourites to collectible and rare bottles. Our services include private labelling, bespoke private imports, sourcing fine wines and rare vintages for collectors and businesses, wine and spirits tastings, staff training, and tailored wine lists for restaurants and bars. We also facilitate bulk purchases for private customers.

VP Merchants now operates both wholesale and retail. Our physical store, Kilbarrack Off-Licence, is located in Kilbarrack Shopping Centre in Dublin, complementing our nationwide wholesale operations.
