About this product

The Tullamore D.E.W. You Probably Haven’t Tried Yet.
There is Tullamore D.E.W. Original, and then there is this rather more unexpected side of the family. Tullamore D.E.W. Café Honey takes the brand’s signature triple-distilled, triple-blended Irish whiskey and brings it together with rich roasted coffee and sweet Bohemian honey, creating something closer to a sophisticated coffee-and-whiskey indulgence than a traditional whiskey pour.

The idea is surprisingly simple, but the combination works beautifully. The whiskey provides a smooth, warming backbone, while freshly roasted coffee brings depth and a gentle bitterness, balanced by the soft sweetness of honey. The result is velvety, aromatic and distinctly dessert-like, with the brand itself comparing the experience to a bite of tiramisu.

There is also a nice Irish connection behind the coffee. Tullamore D.E.W. uses coffee from an artisan roastery in the northwest of Ireland, while the honey comes from beekeepers in Bohemia, creating a rather unusual meeting of Irish whiskey, Irish coffee and Central European honey.

It is still a relatively uncommon sight on the Irish off-trade compared with Tullamore D.E.W. Original or Honey, making Café Honey an interesting bottle for anyone looking beyond the usual whiskey shelf. It has already appeared through Irish travel retail, but remains much more niche than the core range.

Why we love it:
The appeal here is the combination of familiar flavours in a surprisingly different format: roasted coffee, vanilla, honey and smooth Irish whiskey all working together without one completely dominating. It has the indulgent character of a coffee liqueur, but enough whiskey warmth and structure to keep it interesting beyond the dessert-drink category.

Country of origin

Ireland

Colour
Rich golden amber with a warm, honeyed appearance.

Nose
Freshly roasted coffee leads, followed by soft vanilla, caramel and sweet honey notes.

Palate
Velvety and smooth, with a generous burst of roasted coffee balanced by silky honey sweetness. Vanilla and gentle whiskey warmth sit underneath, giving the palate more depth than a straightforward coffee liqueur.

Keep it simple and let the coffee and honey do the work. Serve Café Honey chilled or over a large ice cube, where the whiskey warmth, roasted coffee and honeyed sweetness open up beautifully.

For something more indulgent, use it in an Irish Coffee, or pair a small pour with tiramisu, chocolate desserts, vanilla ice cream or coffee-based desserts. It also works particularly well alongside cold brew for a longer, less traditional serve.

Serve chilled, over ice, or as the whiskey element in a coffee-based cocktail.

Tullamore D.E.W. is one of Ireland’s best-known whiskey names, with its roots in Tullamore, County Offaly. The brand’s signature style is built around a triple blend of Single Malt, Single Pot Still and Single Grain Irish whiskey, bringing together different whiskey styles for a characteristically smooth and approachable profile. Café Honey takes that established whiskey base in a more experimental direction, adding roasted coffee and Bohemian honey for a completely different drinking experience.
