About this product
Matured elegance in a glass.
Crafted exclusively from Friulano grapes, Tomasella’s 2017 Bastìe Bianco offers a deeper, more layered take on this noble Friulian variety. With time in bottle, it has evolved into a textured, aromatic white with gentle savoury tones, ripe orchard fruit, and a signature almond finish. A wine with structure and soul, made to reward those who appreciate subtlety and ageing potential.

Why we love it:
Aged white wine lovers, take note. This is Friulano at its best — golden, savoury, structured, and utterly drinkable. It’s the perfect choice for slow meals and thoughtful sipping.

Friuli Grave DOC

  • Friulano

Colour
Deep straw yellow with golden highlights.

Nose
Aromas of baked pear, yellow plum, acacia honey, wild herbs, and soft almond.

Palate
Full and rounded with ripe fruit, mineral backbone, and a long, dry finish. Notes of quince, chamomile, and citrus oil emerge with air. A beautifully mature white, drinking at its peak.

Pairs beautifully with:

  • Aged cheeses or soft-rind cheeses (like robiola or Brie de Meaux)
  • Seared scallops, monkfish or shellfish risotto
  • Roasted chicken with herbs or lemon
  • Buttery polenta or egg based pasta
  • Antipasti with artichokes, olives or cured meat

Serve slightly chilled in a large glass and allow to open, this is a contemplative white.

Cantina Tomasella lies on the border between Friuli and Veneto, an estate that blends tradition with finesse. The Bastìe range represents their most expressive, age-worthy bottlings as a mature, graceful version of Friulano that shows what this local grape can truly become.
