About this product

Golden Belgian character, made for sharing.
Some beers are best enjoyed slowly, with good food and even better company. St. Bernardus Tripel is one of them: a classic Belgian abbey beer that combines a beautiful golden colour with a fruity, floral character and a satisfying depth of flavour.

Brewed in Watou, close to the French border in Belgium's celebrated beer country, this Tripel brings together the gentle sweetness of malt, expressive Belgian yeast character and a pleasant hop bitterness. Its aromas are delicate yet inviting, while the palate balances fruitiness and sweetness with enough bitterness to keep every sip fresh and engaging.

Despite its 8% ABV, St. Bernardus Tripel is remarkably approachable. Smooth, lively and elegantly balanced, it is a beer to savour rather than rush. The generous 75cl bottle makes it particularly well suited to sharing around the table, whether over a relaxed dinner or as the centrepiece of a Belgian beer evening in Ireland.

Why we love it:
This is a beautiful example of why Belgian Tripels have earned their reputation. It offers plenty of flavour without feeling heavy, with fruity aromas, gentle sweetness and a refined bitterness working together in harmony. The 75cl bottle makes it feel like an occasion in itself — perfect for sharing with someone who appreciates a great beer.

Appearance
Bright golden blonde with a generous, creamy white head.

Aroma
Delicate sweetness, floral notes and ripe fruit, with characteristic Belgian yeast aromas.

Palate
Smooth and fruity, with rounded malt sweetness balanced by pleasant hop bitterness. Lively carbonation keeps the palate fresh, leading to a long, gently bitter finish.

St. Bernardus Tripel's fruity character and restrained bitterness make it a versatile partner for food, from relaxed aperitifs to more substantial meals.

  • Roast chicken: Complements golden, savoury poultry and aromatic herbs.
  • Grilled pork: Works beautifully with grilled meats and a touch of sweetness in the glaze.
  • Mature cheeses: Try it with aged Gouda or a firm Belgian cheese.
  • Salty appetisers: A natural match for charcuterie, savoury pastries and toasted nuts.
  • Seafood: Particularly enjoyable with prawns or other rich, savoury seafood dishes.
  • As an aperitif: Its lively carbonation and balanced bitterness make it an excellent beer to open before dinner.

Serve at 4–8°C, allowing it to warm slightly in the glass so its fruity and floral aromas can develop.
