About this product

New Orleans Heritage in Every Sip.
Sazerac Rye carries with it the misty elegance of 19th-century New Orleans. Born in the city's Sazerac Coffee House, this rye whiskey played a key role in creating America’s first branded cocktail—the Sazerac. Distilled at Buffalo Trace in Kentucky and bottled at 45% ABV (90 proof), it delivers a balanced blend of spice, sweetness, and rich tradition.

For whiskey lovers in Ireland, Sazerac Rye offers a timeless connection to cocktail history and vibrant, approachable character—a perfect way to explore the legacy of rye outside the familiar bourbon world.

Why we love it:
We love Sazerac Rye for the way it tells a story in every glass. It’s more than a rye—it’s a tribute to New Orleans, to the Sazerac Coffee House where it all began. Its smooth yet lively profile shines in iconic cocktails like the Sazerac and Manhattan while still being enjoyable neat. Its mix of clove, vanilla, anise, pepper, and subtle citrus resonates beautifully with Irish palates that appreciate layered yet maintaining drinkability

Sazerac Rye marks a revival of the brand’s original spirit, closely tied to its namesake cocktail and New Orleans' early saloon culture. Crafting resumed at Buffalo Trace in the late 1990s, with the modern rye launching in 2006. It's now a flagship expression of Sazerac Company’s rye legacy
