A Rare Irish Whiskey Treasure.
Steeped in heritage and bursting with flavour, Red Spot is a jewel of the Midleton Distillery’s famed Spot Whiskey family – a rich and complex 15-year-old single pot still expression that has been lovingly matured in a trilogy of cask types: American Bourbon barrels, Spanish sherry butts, and Sicilian Marsala wine casks. This combination creates an orchestra of flavours, from deep orchard fruit sweetness to indulgent baking spice and exotic richness.
Originally created by Dublin’s Mitchell & Son wine merchants over a century ago, Red Spot was once the rarest of the “Spot” series, quietly disappearing from shelves for decades. Now reborn for modern whiskey lovers, it continues to honour its roots while offering something new – a taste of Irish whiskey mastery that captivates collectors and connoisseurs in Ireland and across the world.
Why we love it:
We love Red Spot for its perfect balance of heritage and luxury. The influence of Marsala casks brings an exotic depth rarely found in Irish whiskey, while the sherry and bourbon notes keep it grounded in the classic profile we know and love. It’s a whiskey for special occasions – the kind you sip slowly by the fire, savouring every nuance.

The Mitchell & Son Spot Whiskeys are a testament to Dublin’s whiskey heritage, dating back to the late 1800s.
