About this product

Dark fruited. Spiky. Unmistakably Romagnolo.
From the rolling hills of Ravenna, Randi’s fully organic estate brings to life Magretto, an extraordinary wine crafted from 100% Centesimino — a rare, indigenous grape of Emilia-Romagna. This unique varietal, grown on clay-limestone soils and nurtured by Adriatic breezes, produces wines with distinct aromatic complexity, vibrant fruit, and elegant structure, offering a true taste of local tradition and terroir.

In the glass, Magretto shows a deep ruby-red hue, enticing the senses with aromas of wild red berries, plum, delicate herbs, and subtle hints of spice. The palate is lively and expressive: juicy red fruit, fine-grained tannins, and a mineral lift balance harmoniously, leading to a long, elegant finish. Its organic cultivation and careful vinification preserve the grape’s purity, highlighting Centesimino’s rare character and making each sip a journey into Emilia-Romagna’s hidden gems.

This wine pairs beautifully with roasted meats, hearty pasta dishes, aged cheeses, or simply savored on its own as a special treat. On Irish tables, it brings authenticity, intrigue, and a story in every glass — a wine for those who appreciate something truly unique.

Why we love it:
We love Magretto for its rare and captivating personality. Centesimino’s vibrant fruit, subtle spice, and graceful tannins make it both distinctive and approachable. It’s a wine that tells the story of Emilia-Romagna’s heritage, adding depth, charm, and curiosity to any Irish gathering.

Ravenna IGP

  • Centesimino

Colour
Clear, brilliant ruby red.

Nose
A fragrant medley of blackberry, raspberry, and blueberry layered with rosehip jam, balsamic herbs, wild fennel, white pepper, cinnamon, and star anise.

Palate
Crisp and juicy with fine, firm tannins and bright acidity. The fruit is concentrated yet fresh, the spice persistent, and the finish savoury and dry — a wine with tension and vibrancy.

Magretto’s structured frame and aromatic intensity make it a versatile companion for:

  • Cured meats like finocchiona, coppa, and prosciutto
  • Rustic pork roasts, game birds, or duck with herbs
  • Wild mushroom or truffle risotto
  • Larded or grilled eel, swordfish, or rich seafood
  • Eggplant parmigiana, lentil stews, or grilled root vegetables

It’s an excellent table wine — expressive and assertive, but never overwhelming.
