In the ochre‑toned, clay‑limestone soils of Azienda Agricola Pandolfa, high on the slopes above Predappio, the vines destined for “Pandolfo” Sangiovese Riserva soak up sunshine, Adriatic breeze and centuries of winemaking heritage. Here, in vineyards planted circa 1999 at 150–200 m above sea level, each cluster of 100 % Sangiovese large‑berried biotypes is hand‑harvested in the second decade of September for this premium expression.

The journey begins in the glass with a deep ruby hue that hints at both power and elegance. The nose unfolds with ripe black cherries, plums and dark berry compote, softened by spice, fine cedar and autumn underbrush. On the palate, the wine is full‑bodied yet refined: layered dark fruit, warm savoury notes, a backbone of minerality and silky tannins that carry the finish long and strong. Ageing for 18 months in large Slovenian‑oak barrels followed by at least 8 months in bottle brings harmony, depth and a sense of place.
