A little taste of the South of France. Fresh, fruity and wonderfully easy-going.
Some wines are made for contemplation. Others are simply made for enjoying — and Orée des Roses falls very comfortably into the second category. This is a bright, approachable rosé from the sunny Languedoc, bringing together the freshness of the Mediterranean with juicy summer-fruit flavours and a clean, dry finish.
Made from a classic southern French combination of Cinsault and Grenache, the wine has plenty of natural charm. Cinsault brings freshness and delicate red-fruit character, while Grenache gives the wine a little more roundness and generosity. From the Aude in the Languedoc, it is a straightforward expression of southern French rosé that puts drinkability first.
In the glass, expect a pale salmon-pink colour and fresh aromas of citrus and red berries, followed by a light, rounded palate of strawberry and ripe raspberry. It is refreshing without being sharp and fruity without being sweet — exactly the sort of bottle that works beautifully as an aperitif or alongside an informal meal. For rosé lovers in Ireland, it is an easy bottle to reach for when you want something uncomplicated, chilled and cheerful.
Why we love it:
This is rosé in its most accessible form: fresh, fruity, light and incredibly easy to enjoy. The strawberry and citrus character gives it plenty of personality without making it heavy, while the dry, refreshing finish keeps it perfect for another glass.

Orée des Roses is produced by Les Grands Chais de France (GCF), one of France's major privately owned wine groups. Founded by Joseph Helfrich in 1979, GCF has grown into an international wine business with vineyards and winemaking interests across many of France's principal wine regions. The group's Languedoc wines benefit from the region's Mediterranean climate and wide variety of grape-growing conditions, while the focus here is firmly on making an uncomplicated, fresh and accessible rosé that is easy to enjoy from the first glass.
