Fresh. Textural. Your perfect introduction to orange wine.
Orange wine has quickly become one of the most talked-about styles in the wine world, yet it remains a mystery to many drinkers. Oh My Orange is designed to change that. Fresh, aromatic, and wonderfully approachable, it captures everything that makes skin-contact wines so intriguing without the intense oxidative or funky characteristics that can sometimes divide opinion. It's an orange wine made for discovery—modern, balanced, and incredibly easy to enjoy.
Despite the name, orange wine has nothing to do with oranges. Instead, it is made by fermenting white grapes with their skins, much like red wine. This ancient technique, dating back thousands of years, gently extracts colour, texture, tannins, and complex aromas, producing wines that sit beautifully between white and red. Oh My Orange embraces this traditional method with a contemporary touch, prioritising freshness, purity, and drinkability over the more extreme natural wine styles.
Produced in France, the wine is crafted from a carefully selected blend of Grenache Blanc, Viognier, Muscat, and Clairette. Each variety contributes something unique: Grenache Blanc provides body, Viognier brings stone fruit richness, Muscat lifts the aromatics with floral perfume, while Clairette adds freshness and balance. Gentle skin contact creates the wine's beautiful amber hue and delicate tannic structure without overwhelming its vibrant fruit character.
In the glass, it displays a luminous amber-gold colour with copper highlights. The nose is immediately expressive, offering aromas of dried orange peel, mandarin, ripe peach, apricot, wildflowers, herbal tea, and delicate spice. There's an inviting complexity that feels both familiar and completely different from traditional white wines.
The palate is dry to gently off-dry, with a rounded mouthfeel and a subtle grip from the skin contact. Flavours of citrus peel, stone fruit, dried flowers, and gentle herbs are supported by soft tannins and lively freshness. Rather than being oxidative or overly savoury, the wine remains bright, vibrant, and remarkably approachable, finishing with lingering notes of mandarin zest and aromatic spice.
For adventurous wine lovers in Ireland, Oh My Orange is an ideal first step into the world of orange wines. It offers all the intrigue of skin-contact winemaking while remaining balanced and easy to understand, making it equally enjoyable for curious newcomers and seasoned enthusiasts alike. It's the kind of bottle that always starts a conversation around the table.
