Expressive. Bright. A Tuscan red that lives with freshness and finesse.
Il Lupinello is grown on the renowned clay-rich soils of La Lupinella’s organic vineyards in Montespertoli, Tuscany. Made from 55% Canaiolo, 40% Sangiovese and 5% Trebbiano, this wine exemplifies the estate’s signature blend of tradition and innovation. Its unique production—short skin maceration in concrete then ageing in concrete tanks—brings together vivid fruit, floral lift, gentle tannins, and a crisp, sapid finish
Why we love it:
This is a vibrant, food-rooted Tuscan red that surprises with its lightness, charm, and transparent sense of place. No heavy oak, no overt ripeness—just pure, punchy Sangiovese with texture and energy. Il Lupinello is a perfect bottle for fresh pasta nights, wine spritz bases, or casual réjetas with friends.

La Lupinella is deeply rooted in Tuscan craft—descendants of a renowned ceramic family, they farm their vineyards on the same clay soils that shaped their kilnwork. Under Marco Bitossi and Manuela Marzi, the winery blends ancestral wisdom with contemporary organic practices. Il Lupinello, in particular, showcases this lineage—pure varietal expression, fermented in concrete to highlight freshness, made in large-format 1 L bottles to enhance conviviality & value.
