About this product

Earth-born. Pure Sangiovese. A Chianti of remarkable clarity and character.
Rossa by La Lupinella is a captivating Chianti Superiore that embodies the warmth, passion, and authenticity of Tuscany. Crafted organically from Sangiovese with a touch of Colorino, this red is a vibrant reflection of the estate’s deep respect for nature and tradition.

In the glass, Rossa shows a brilliant ruby hue with aromas that unfold gracefully — ripe cherries, violets, wild herbs, and a hint of spice from its gentle ageing. On the palate, it’s supple yet structured, with the bright acidity and fine tannins that define true Chianti, balanced by a lovely depth of red fruit and earthy minerality.

This is the kind of wine that feels alive — elegant enough for special dinners, yet rustic enough to enjoy alongside a simple bowl of pasta or aged cheese. In Ireland, Rossa brings a taste of Tuscany’s sunlit hills straight to the table, pairing beautifully with roast meats, hearty stews, or even a slow Sunday lasagne.

Why we love it:
La Lupinella Rossa is a rare Chianti that combines depth and drinkability. It’s a wine of quiet sophistication—vibrant, clean, and terroir-transparent, with a natural rhythm that speaks of time, tradition, and place. For those who appreciate purity over flash, this is a bottle to savour.

9 months in wood, followed by 3 months in concrete tank and further year of refining in bottle.

La Lupinella is a small, organically certified estate just outside Vinci, Tuscany, with deep family roots in both ceramics and viticulture. Named after the wild lupine flower that blooms among the vines, the winery is run by Marco Bitossi and winemaker Manuela Marzi, whose thoughtful approach to farming and cellar work reflects the land’s natural rhythms. Wines are fermented in terracotta amphorae, concrete, and large oak, with a clear focus on balance, energy, and site expression. Each bottle is a window into the clay, sun, and soul of the Montalbano Hills.
