Power. Precision. Pure rock in a glass.
From the stage to the vineyard, Iron Maiden brings the same intensity and craftsmanship that made them legends of music. Darkest Red is more than a name — it’s a statement. A Portuguese red wine that combines strength and soul, made with the same fearless energy that defines the band’s spirit.
Born in the rugged hills of Portugal’s Douro Valley, Darkest Red unites four native grapes — Touriga Franca, Tempranillo (Tinta Roriz), Tinta Cão, and Touriga Nacional — each adding its own layer of character. Together, they form a blend that’s as complex and commanding as an Iron Maiden guitar solo: dark fruit, spice, and structure perfectly in tune.
The grapes are hand-harvested from steep, sun-drenched vineyards carved into schist terraces that overlook the Douro River. Slow fermentation and gentle oak ageing create a wine of remarkable depth — full-bodied yet refined, rich yet balanced.
In the glass, it glows an inky crimson. Aromas of black cherry, plum, and violet rise above notes of mocha, cedar, and warm spice. The palate is lush and velvety, bursting with ripe black fruit, subtle minerality, and a lingering finish of dark chocolate and smoke. Every sip feels alive — a crescendo of flavour that builds and fades with perfect rhythm.
For wine lovers in Ireland, this is a red that bridges the worlds of music and fine winemaking — bold enough for rock fans, refined enough for true connoisseurs.
Why we love it:
A rock legend meets a world-class wine region. Darkest Red captures the Douro’s intensity and Iron Maiden’s spirit in perfect harmony — deep, generous, and authentic. It’s proof that power can be elegant, and that great music and great wine share the same soul.
