About this product

A timeless Friulian classic. Elegant, expressive, and unmistakably authentic.
Forchir’s Friulano is a tribute to the deep roots and quiet pride of Friuli Venezia Giulia. Once known as Tocai, this native grape is the beating heart of the region’s white wines — a variety that speaks fluently of its homeland, where the Alps shield the vineyards from the north and the Adriatic breezes temper the warmth from the south. The result is a wine of serene balance: gently aromatic, rich in texture, and defined by the minerality of Friuli’s stony plains.

Cultivated in Camino al Tagliamento, Forchir’s Friulano grows in gravelly, well-drained soils that encourage low yields and high concentration. Fermented and aged in stainless steel to preserve freshness, it reveals all the subtlety and depth that make this grape so loved across northern Italy. There’s no rush of fruit or heavy oak here — just quiet layers of almond, wild herbs, and orchard blossom unfolding with grace and precision.

For wine lovers in Ireland, this is a discovery to savour — a wine that bridges Italian elegance with the kind of natural purity and freshness that pairs beautifully with local seafood and artisanal cuisine.

Why we love it:
Friulano is a grape that whispers rather than shouts, and Forchir’s version captures that sense of calm beauty perfectly. It’s a wine of subtle complexity — floral and nutty, soft yet structured, with a long, dry finish that feels effortlessly refined. We love how it reflects Friuli’s landscape: tranquil, stony, and full of quiet character. A hidden gem that feels both timeless and refreshingly modern.
