Natural elegance born from Friuli’s wild, resilient heart.
Èthos is more than a wine — it’s a statement of intent from one of Friuli’s most forward-thinking estates. Crafted by Forchir, a pioneer in sustainable winemaking, Èthos embodies the harmony between innovation and nature. It’s made entirely from PIWI grape varieties — naturally disease-resistant vines such as Fleurtai, Soreli, Sauvignon Kretos, Sauvignon Nepis, and Sauvignon Rytos — cultivated organically in Friuli’s rugged, gravel-strewn soils.
In this northern Italian landscape, the Alps meet the Adriatic, and the vines draw strength from iron-rich alluvial terrain and crisp mountain air. This unique terroir, harsh yet generous, gives Èthos its unmistakable identity — fresh, mineral, and quietly powerful. The grapes are hand-harvested, gently pressed, and fermented slowly in stainless steel to preserve their purity and delicate aromatics. No sulphur is added at bottling, allowing the wine to express its raw, natural character.
The result is a white wine that feels alive — luminous in colour, vibrant on the palate, and deeply connected to the land that shaped it. Èthos is Forchir’s promise to the future: a wine that respects nature, embraces innovation, and captures the authentic soul of Friuli in every glass.
Why we love it:
Èthos is the kind of wine that makes you pause — not because it shouts, but because it speaks softly and honestly. It’s clean, mineral, and refreshingly modern, yet anchored in tradition. For wine lovers in Ireland, it represents a new chapter in Italian winemaking — one where sustainability, purity, and terroir come together seamlessly. This is organic winemaking done with precision and elegance, not dogma.

With over a century of history, Forchir is one of Friuli’s most dynamic and environmentally advanced wineries. Spread across 230 hectares, the estate is fully energy-independent, powered by photovoltaic and geothermal systems. Yet technology never overshadows terroir — their wines remain rooted in the region’s ancient soils and cool northern climate.
The introduction of PIWI vines reflects Forchir’s commitment to viticulture “Beyond Organic” — reducing environmental impact while crafting wines of character and purity. Èthos stands as their manifesto: a wine that unites the rugged strength of Friuli with the elegance of modern Italian craftsmanship.
