An Irish Gin Classic in a Bottle Worth Keeping.
Some bottles are bought for what's inside. Others make an impression before the cork is even lifted. Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin Ceramic Edition brings together one of Ireland's most distinctive contemporary gins and a striking ceramic presentation that makes it particularly appealing for gifting, collecting or adding something special to a home bar.
Inside is the familiar Gunpowder Irish Gin, created by the curious mind of PJ Rigney at The Shed Distillery in Drumshanbo, County Leitrim. Its character comes from the meeting of traditional gin botanicals, exotic oriental ingredients, fresh citrus and the distinctive green tea that gives the gin its name. The spirit is slowly distilled by hand, bringing these different elements together in a bright, aromatic and beautifully balanced style.
The signature Gunpowder tea adds a subtle, distinctive dimension, while juniper, coriander and citrus keep the gin recognisably classic. Fresh lemon, lime and grapefruit notes meet warming spice and herbal complexity, making it an excellent choice for a carefully prepared Gin & Tonic as well as a range of classic cocktails.
The ceramic bottle elevates the presentation beyond the standard glass format, making this edition particularly interesting for collectors and fans of the brand. Originally introduced as a travel-retail exclusive, it offers an appealing way to enjoy a well-known Irish gin in a more distinctive format.
Why we love it:
The appeal is the combination of substance and presentation: a genuinely characterful Irish gin with fresh citrus, aromatic juniper and the intriguing tea notes that make Gunpowder distinctive, housed in a ceramic bottle designed to stand out. It works beautifully as a gift for gin lovers, but it's equally rewarding for anyone who wants a bottle that looks as good on the drinks shelf as it tastes in the glass.
Ireland
Colour
Crystal clear.
Nose
Fresh lime and grapefruit lead, followed by juniper, star anise, angelica and a subtle, exotic hint of Gunpowder tea.
Palate
Smooth and rounded, with lemon, lime and grapefruit supported by juniper and warming oriental spices. The Gunpowder tea emerges through the middle, adding a distinctive herbal dimension without overpowering the citrus.mooth and full-bodied with notes of oak spice, crème brûlée, dried apricot, and white pepper.
Good tonic, plenty of ice and a generous wedge of grapefruit are all you need. The fresh citrus and aromatic tea notes make this gin particularly well suited to a bright, refreshing Gin & Tonic.
For a different serve, try it in a Martini to let the botanicals shine, or use it in a Negroni for a more bittersweet, spirit-forward cocktail.
Serve with premium tonic over ice, garnished with fresh grapefruit or lime.
