About this product

Young, Fresh, and Wholeheartedly Sustainable.
In the heart of Piedmont’s Roero, Cantina Ceste has taken a bold step into the future—crafting wines from PIWI grape varieties. These fungus-resistant hybrids (like Soreli, Sauvignon Rytos, and Fleurtai) are bred for sustainability, resilience, and purity. The result? A new family of wines that respect the land and taste beautiful—starting with the “Ratio” PIWI Bianco.

“Ratio” shines in the glass with a pale straw-yellow glow and gentle green highlights. On the nose, it offers floral notes, fresh hay, and delicate hints of bread crust. The palate is elegantly soft and precise, with low acidity and vibrant aromas of white peach, honey, and spring herbs. At just 11.5% ABV, it feels lightweight, lively, and deeply expressive—quiet yet confident.

Why we love it:
“Ratio” is a refreshing evolution of the Ceste family’s heritage—showcasing how thoughtful viticulture and progressive grape varieties can deliver both environmental responsibility and pure Piedmontese character. It’s an ideal match for modern Irish palates that want quality, integrity, and authenticity in every sip.

Cantina Ceste has always balanced tradition with forward-thinking vision. Founded in Govone in the 1960s, they’re now leading the PIWI/Piedmontese resistance movement, reducing vineyard treatments and promoting sustainability. “Ratio” is one of their earliest PIWI wines—and a promising new chapter in Italian wine.
