About this product

Altitude, minerality, and elegance. A Chardonnay shaped by the Andes.
High in the Tupungato region of Mendoza’s Uco Valley, the Tupungato Chardonnay thrives in vineyards where sunlight, cool mountain nights, and mineral-rich soils converge to create grapes of extraordinary purity. The site’s high altitude ensures slow, even ripening, producing fruit that is expressive, crisp, and complex. This Chardonnay reflects the Catena family’s dedication to vineyard precision and terroir-driven winemaking.

Grapes are hand-harvested and fermented in French oak barrels, some of which are lightly toasted to enhance texture and complexity without overshadowing the wine’s natural freshness. Aging on fine lees adds creaminess and depth, while careful handling preserves the wine’s vibrant acidity and mineral focus. The result is a Chardonnay of clarity and elegance, perfectly balancing richness and freshness.

On the nose, aromas of white peach, yellow apple, citrus blossom, and subtle almond intertwine with hints of flint and lightly toasted oak. The palate is textured yet lively, with stone-fruit richness, crisp acidity, and a mineral-driven finish that lingers with finesse. For wine enthusiasts in Ireland, Tupungato Chardonnay is a vibrant expression of high-altitude Mendoza — a white wine that brings sophistication and freshness to the table, whether enjoyed on its own or paired with food.

Why we love it:
Tupungato Chardonnay showcases the Catena philosophy: letting the vineyard speak while guiding its expression with precision. Its combination of mineral clarity, layered fruit, and subtle oak makes it a versatile and refined white, ideal for both casual enjoyment and special occasions.
