About this product

Volcanic. Elegant. Piedirosso reborn from Vesuvius.
Fuocoallegro emerges from the volcanic clefts of Vesuvius—crafted purely from 100% Piedirosso grown on ungrafted vines at around 300 m elevation in Bosco del Monaco and Tirone della Guardia. Fermented with 48 hours of cryo‑maceration, then aged for a full year in terracotta amphora and large French oak barrels, this wine marries Piedirosso’s floral intensity with volcanic depth—yielding a wine of richness, finesse, and unmistakable sense of place.

Why we love it:
Fuocoallegro is a true volcanic masterpiece—where Piedirosso’s floral grace meets the raw energy of Vesuvius. The amphora and oak maturation bring texture and elegance, while its mineral spine and savoury finish offer depth and presence. Bold yet balanced, it’s Piedirosso redefined.

Casa Setaro is a family-run winery based in Trecase, on the southern slopes of Mount Vesuvius. Founded by Massimo Setaro, the estate is dedicated to preserving Campania’s native grape varieties—especially those grown ungrafted on the volcanic soils of the Vesuvian National Park. The winery follows organic practices, working by hand and with minimal intervention to respect the natural rhythms of the land. From the rare Caprettone and Piedirosso to amphora-aged reds and precise whites, Casa Setaro is a benchmark for quality and authenticity in Southern Italy.
