Precise. Volcanic. A bold step into Vesuvian crus.
Casa Setaro introduces a groundbreaking wine: Contradae 61·37, a single-parcel blend from the heart of Bosco del Monaco on Mount Vesuvius. A blend of 50% Caprettone, 30% Greco, and 20% Fiano, sourced from 50–100‑year‑old ungrafted vines, this limited-edition white is a bold move in the quest for Vesuvian cru identity. The "61·37" name cleverly nods to local lore via Napoli’s Smorfia—‘61’ for Bosco, ‘37’ for Monaco—circumventing DOC limitations while pointing to its unique origin.
Why we love it:
Contradae 61·37 is a bold manifesto of Vesuvius—from its soil, grape, and parcel. Complex yet fresh, it offers layered fruit, herbal depth, and volcanic tension, all in a singular bottle that begins to define the cru identity of this mythic region.
