Classic French Sauvignon with elegance, freshness and a little more polish.
Sauvignon Blanc can be wonderfully expressive, but the best versions are about more than simply being crisp and aromatic. Bouchard Aîné & Fils takes the grape in a refined French direction here, balancing fresh fruit and mineral character with a softer, more rounded texture that makes the wine feel polished without losing its natural energy.
The Héritage du Conseiller range reflects Bouchard Aîné & Fils' approach to bringing together France's great grape varieties with fruit from suitable French terroirs. The Sauvignon is fermented at low temperatures to preserve its natural aromas and freshness, then rested on fine lees to give the finished wine a little more texture and depth.
The result is an elegant, uncomplicated Sauvignon with fresh fruit, subtle mineral notes and bright acidity. For Sauvignon Blanc drinkers in Ireland, it offers a pleasingly French alternative to the more overtly tropical style associated with New Zealand: fresher and more mineral, with a gentle softness that makes it particularly easy to enjoy.
Why we love it:
A beautifully balanced everyday Sauvignon that keeps the freshness we want from the grape while bringing a little extra elegance to the glass. It is aromatic without being loud, crisp without being sharp and versatile enough to work equally well as an aperitif or alongside dinner.
France
- Sauvignon Blanc
Colour
Pale straw with bright, youthful reflections.
Nose
Fresh citrus and orchard fruit with delicate mineral and floral notes.
Palate
Fresh and lively on the palate, with citrus and fresh-fruit flavours supported by crisp acidity. The fine-lees ageing gives the wine a gentle softness through the middle, while the finish remains clean, elegant and refreshing.
Its combination of freshness and gentle texture makes this a particularly versatile Sauvignon. The classic French style works beautifully with seafood and goat's cheese, but there is enough roundness for lighter poultry and vegetable dishes too.
- Oysters and mussels
- Grilled prawns
- Scallops
- Fresh white fish

For the best expression in Ireland, serve well chilled at around 8–10°C. There is no need to decant — simply open, pour and enjoy while the wine is fresh and aromatic.

Founded in Beaune in 1750, Bouchard Aîné & Fils is a historic Burgundy house whose expertise has grown from its traditional Burgundian varieties into a broader portfolio of French wines. The Héritage du Conseiller range pays tribute to Paul Bouchard, the fifth generation of the family and an important figure in the development and modernisation of both the house and the wider Beaune wine trade. Today, the range combines that Burgundian heritage with carefully selected French fruit, allowing classic varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc to be presented in an accessible, elegant style.
