About this product

Bold. Rooted. Alpine Redux of Malt Distillates.
Bordiga Spiga is not whisky — it is a masterfully crafted malt distillate that celebrates Italy’s grain heritage through Bordiga’s alpine lens. Produced in small batches in Cuneo by the historic Bordiga distillery, Spiga begins as rye-based mash (with plans to expand to local grains) distilled over water-bath copper stills, then aged for at least 18 months in medium-toast French oak barriques.

Its transformation in oak brings forth warm amber tones, with aromas of dark chocolate, earth, tobacco leaf, vanilla bean, and rich malty cocoa. On the palate it arrives strong and bold, then settles into refined layers of spiced oak, mellow sweetness, and elegant tobacco finish — a complex spirit with quiet confidence that lingers long after the sip.

For Irish connoisseurs of rare and artisanal spirits, Bordiga Spiga is a revelation. This limited-edition distillate joins your collection not simply as another bottle but as a conversation piece, an intersection between tradition and innovation, Alpine terroir and avant-garde spirit. Whether sampled neat in a Glencairn or gently chilled, Spiga is made to reward patience and invite revisits — a premium disrupter in any spirits cabinet.

Why we love it:
We love Bordiga Spiga because it bridges two worlds — the boldness of malt distillates and the subtlety of Bordiga’s alpine ethos. Unlike traditional whiskies, Spiga carries forward the botanical respect and small-batch precision of the distillery’s heritage. Its texture is silky, its spirit is confident, its story is deeply Italian yet refreshingly original. For Irish collectors and spirit enthusiasts, Spiga is a trophy — rare, expressive, and unforgettable.
