Barcos “500” Sauvignon Blanc is no ordinary white wine—it’s a tribute to the bold spirit of exploration that defines Portugal’s maritime heritage. Crafted in the lush, rolling hills of Minho by Barcos Wines (formerly Adega Cooperativa Ponte da Barca), this is the winery’s first foray into an international grape—100% Sauvignon Blanc—planted and raised under the Atlantic skies of northern Portugal.
The name “500” honours 500 years since the great Portuguese discoveries that connected continents and cultures. Much like those voyages, this wine represents a bold new chapter—combining the crisp vibrancy of Sauvignon Blanc with the unmistakable freshness and minerality of Vinho Verde terroir.
