About this product

A Deep Taste of Sicily.
Rooted in the sun-drenched hills of Sicily, Averna is a bittersweet journey into the heart of Italian tradition. Born in Caltanissetta in 1868, it was originally created by Capuchin monks and passed on to Salvatore Averna, who turned the recipe into a household name. Today, Averna is one of Italy’s most beloved amari — rich, velvety, and bursting with earthy Mediterranean herbs and citrus.

It’s not just a digestif — it’s a slow sip of Sicilian life. Whether you serve it neat after dinner or stir it into a cocktail, Averna offers a depth of flavour and cultural heritage that never fails to impress.

Why we love it:
Averna is bold yet approachable, with layers of complexity that unfold slowly. We love its balance of sweetness and herbal bitterness, and how it captures the rugged warmth of Sicily in liquid form. Perfect for those who appreciate nuance, tradition, and a dash of Mediterranean soul.
