About this product

Bold. Expressive. Steeped in Irish folklore.
Athrú 14-Year-Old Keshcorran is a remarkable expression of Ireland’s west coast, where legend, landscape, and craft converge. Produced by Lough Gill Distillery in County Sligo, this small-batch single malt pays homage to the ancient Keshcorran caves, steeped in folklore and mystery. From the windswept peat bogs to the Atlantic breezes, every sip evokes the rugged beauty of Ireland’s northwest, capturing the spirit of the land in a whisky of extraordinary depth and character.

Carefully matured for 11 years in ex-bourbon casks and finished for 3 years in Hungarian Tokaji sweet wine casks, Athrú 14Y Keshcorran achieves a rare harmony between tradition and innovation. The bourbon casks impart rich vanilla and honeyed malt, while the Tokaji finish adds delicate notes of citrus, tropical fruits, and subtle floral sweetness. The result is a whisky that is at once vibrant and sophisticated—a story of patience, craft, and the wild Irish coast.

For whisky enthusiasts in Ireland, Athrú 14Y Keshcorran offers more than a dram; it offers a journey. It invites you to explore layers of flavor that reflect Ireland’s natural beauty and cultural richness, whether savored neat, with a splash of water, or in a whisky-forward cocktail. Each bottle is a celebration of place, heritage, and the artistry of Lough Gill Distillery.

Why we love it:
Keshcorran is a beautifully balanced expression where bright orchard fruit meets Tokaji’s tropical sweetness, anchored by oak spice and tobacco—delivering a whiskey that feels both timelessly Irish and refreshingly contemporary.

Athrú (“change” in Irish) is the small-batch single malt label from Lough Gill Distillery, led by master blender Billy Walker (World Distiller of the Year 2015). Their “Creation Trilogy” of 14‑year-old whiskeys—Annacoona, Knocknarea, and Keshcorran—reflect local folklore and rigorously-selected cask finishes.
