About this product

Velvety. Dark-fruited. Smoothly indulgent.
Apothic Merlot takes the naturally soft and approachable nature of Merlot and gives it the richer, darker signature style that defines Apothic. Plush fruit, subtle oak sweetness, and a smooth texture come together in a wine designed to feel comforting, generous, and immediately enjoyable.

Unlike more restrained Merlot styles, Apothic leans into California’s warmth and ripeness, creating a wine with depth of fruit and a softer, fuller personality. The result is a Merlot that feels modern and expressive — easy to drink, but with enough richness to stand out from everyday reds.

In the glass, it reveals a deep ruby colour with aromas of black cherry, ripe plum, blackberry, vanilla, and mocha. Hints of sweet spice and cocoa add an extra layer of warmth and indulgence. The palate is smooth and rounded, with juicy dark fruit balanced by velvety tannins and subtle oak influence. The finish is mellow, lingering softly with notes of vanilla and ripe berries.

For wine lovers in Ireland, Apothic Merlot offers a richer alternative to traditional soft reds — perfect for cosy evenings, relaxed dinners, or simply when you want something smooth and full-flavoured without too much structure or heaviness. It’s approachable, comforting, and unmistakably Californian in style.

Why we love it:
Soft, plush, and packed with dark fruit. A velvety California Merlot with smooth texture and subtle mocha richness.
