Intense. Herbal. An explosive Mediterranean spirit.
Amaro Bomba Carta captures the untamed spirit of Sardinia in every sip. Crafted by Silvio Carta using wild Mediterranean botanicals—santolina, hypericum, helichrysum, thyme, mugwort—complemented by rare strawberry tree (corbezzolo) honey, this amaro embodies both the sweetness and wild intensity of the island. With a bold amber hue and a bottle wrapped in paper reminiscent of a Molotov, it promises an authentic, sensory journey through Sardinia’s rugged landscapes. Irish enthusiasts are increasingly drawn to its character—rich, herbal, and unapologetically bold.
Why we love it:
This amaro doesn’t whisper; it speaks in vibrant Sardinian dialect. The botanical richness—drawn from the island’s scrub—meets the bitter-sweet complexity of strawberry tree honey in perfect tension. The aroma is herbal and resinous, the flavour an explosion of Mediterranean herbs grounded by balsamic honey. It’s the kind of spirit that commands a slow sip and invites reflection, earning fans among Irish drinkers who appreciate authenticity, depth, and a taste of a wild terroir.

Silvio Carta was established in the early 1950s in Baratili San Pietro, Sardinia, by the now-legendary Silvio Carta. The company began with Vernaccia di Oristano wines, evolving into an eco-conscious distillery under Elio Carta in the 1960s. Today, the third generation continues the legacy—crafting Vernaccia, Sardinian gin, vermouths, liqueurs, grappas, and amari—using local botanicals, discontinued copper distillation, and a deep respect for land and time.
