About this product

Almaviva 2022 is a red wine from the Puente Alto region of Chile. It is the result of a partnership between the renowned French winery Baron Philippe de Rothschild and Chile's Concha y Toro, combining traditional Bordeaux techniques with Chilean terroir.

Vinification: The must is first cooled and the juice is left in contact with the skins to extract its rich colour and aromas. Malolactic fermentation takes place spontaneously, just before or just after the wine is gravity-drained into new French oak barrels, where it will stay for 18 months. The skins and seeds are placed in basket presses and lightly pressed to extract the press wine, which is added in small proportions to the final blend.

Tasting notes: What fabulous perfumed aromas of lavender, blackcurrant, graphite, tapenade and hints of sweet tobacco. So complex and sophisticated. Medium to full-bodied, with tannins of incredible finesse and length. It goes on for minutes. It's all about elegance and class. There's harmony and freshness for a dry year. Seductive and very long. It can be drunk now, but it's a wine for the cellar. Drink from 2028. James Suckling
