Aberfeldy 12 Year Old takes a different route, building its character around honeyed sweetness, ripe fruit, creamy vanilla and gentle spice. Known as the “Golden Dram”, this Highland single malt is an inviting introduction to the distillery's style, offering plenty of flavour without demanding too much from the drinker.
Distilled in the heart of Perthshire, Scotland, Aberfeldy has been making whisky since 1898. Its 12-year-old expression brings together whisky matured in a combination of bourbon, sherry, refill and re-charred casks, creating a rounded profile where sweet malt and fruit meet the influence of oak. The result is approachable and comforting, with enough depth to reward a slower sip.
Honey is the defining note, supported by vanilla, creamy fudge and spiced fruit, while a delicate whisper of smoke adds a little complexity towards the finish. Easy Home Cocktail – Aberfeldy Old Fashioned
- 50ml Aberfeldy 12 Year Old
- 5ml sugar syrup
- 2 dashes aromatic bitters
- Orange peel
- Ice
Add the whisky, sugar syrup and bitters to a mixing glass with ice. Stir until well chilled, then strain over a large ice cube in a rocks glass. Express the oils from an orange peel over the drink and use it as the garnish.

Founded in 1898 in the Highland village of Aberfeldy, Perthshire, the distillery has built its reputation around a fruit-forward, honey-rich style of single malt.
