Owned by the Rambaud Family, same owner of the prestigious SaintEmilion Grand cru Classe Chateau Pavie Macquin and also Chateau Corbin in Saint Georges Saint-Emilion, the vineyard of Grand Moulin Macquin Montagne Saint-Emilion are located just northeast of Saint-Émilion, on the right bank of the Barbonne river. They are part of the "satellites" of the Saint-Émilion vineyards which were granted an A.O.C in 1936. The vines are thirty-five years old and planted with a density of 5,000/hectares on a limestone -clay mixed soil. Francois Rambauld proceeds with a green harvest to ensure good maturity. Once harvested, the grapes are cold soaked for two weeks before the alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature controlled vats.

The wine is aged in oak for twelve to fourteen months before bottling. Grand Moulin Macquin often seduces by its fruitiness and silky tannins. Blueberry and blackberry mixed nose, quite rich on the palate it can be cellared for 7 to 10 years.
